This evening we will be showing the short film "The Tasmanian Big Tree Hunters". The film follows five young Tasmanians on their big tree discoveries. It highlights the environmental challenges big trees face in Tasmania, as well as the abundant economic and social opportunities forests provide when left standing. Five very personal stories from people who are out there scrub-bashing their way through uncharted forests, this film will have something for everyone.
Following the film we will hear from people who were involved in the project, including Steve Pearce, Creative Director of The Tree Projects. Senator Peter Whish-Wilson will also give an update on the work of The Greens' to protect our forests.
Substantial canapes will be served during the evening, and drinks will be available for purchase from the bar. We will, of course, be fundraising and will have a small silent auction & raffle on the night.
