Join the Conversation on Strengthening Communities and Embracing Diversity with Senators Mehreen Faruqi and Nick McKim

Greens’ Senators Mehreen Faruqi and Nick McKim welcome you to the launch of the Multicultural Greens Tasmania and to an open conversation on embracing diversity, strengthening communities and dismantling racism.

Lutruwita/Tasmania is a tapestry woven with the rich threads of diverse cultures, languages, traditions, and religions, courtesy of people who have journeyed here from all corners of the globe. Our multiculturalism is a source of pride and a reason to celebrate.

This event will be one of many more discussions on the importance for our Governments, schools, workplaces and services to be well placed to empower and support our multicultural communities; How we can build an inclusive and diverse society and how we can foster an anti-racist movement.

The Multicultural Greens Tasmania is an initiative aimed at fostering diversity and inclusivity in our movement, creating a space within the Tasmanian Greens to share, preserve and celebrate different cultures and traditions, and engage with Australian politics.

All are welcome!

You are invited to join us for an informal Q&A session with Senator Mehreen Faruqi, Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens and Anti-Racism portfolio holder, alongside Senator Nick McKim, Immigration and Multicultural Affairs portfolio holder.

The evening is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the Greens and meet our Senators. Please feel free to bring anyone along who may be interested in getting involved or would like to become a member of the Multicultural Greens Tasmania. The more the merrier!

If you are not able to come to the event in person, a zoom link will be available to join online. Please contact nina@senatormckim.com for more information.

Drinks and Nibbles will be provided.

All people, regardless of culture, religion, language, or place of birth, have equal rights economically, socially and culturally. Multiculturalism in Australia and lutruwita/Tasmania must be based on the recognition of the sovereignty of the First Nations peoples.
