Notice is hereby given that there will be a Special General Meeting regarding Governance Reform.

Notice is hereby given that the SGM onĀ 3 August 2026 will debate the following motion:

That this meetingĀ agrees to submit the proposed questions about reform of the constitution and by-laws (as presented and amended at this meeting) to a ballot of all members as soon as practicable and that the results will be reported at the 24 August 2026 SGM for confirmation via a special resolution.

The ACT Greens Governance Working Group (GWG) reviews the Party's governance to ensure our constitution, by-laws and policies remain fit for purpose. Over the past two years, the GWG has consulted extensively with members through meetings and discussion papers to develop a package of proposed reforms. We thank everyone who contributed their time, ideas and thoughtful feedback.

Under our rules, all constitutional changes must be approved by a vote of members. The next step is a Special General Meeting (SGM) on 3 August 2026, where members will decide whether the proposed reforms should proceed to a ballot of the full membership. Although by-law changes would normally be decided at an SGM, these proposals are closely linked to the constitutional reforms and will be considered together. To make voting easier, the reforms have been grouped into several ballot questions, allowing members to support some or all of the proposed changes.

Meeting will be held in the Party Office and Online via zoom. Full details of the proposals will be sent to you on registration and in your reminder email.
